I am Sumera Yasin, a social worker, social activist, researcher, and academic with extensive experience in sociology, gender studies, governance, and public policy. Born in Pakistan and currently based in Sweden, my work spans South Asia and Europe, focusing on women’s rights, refugee well-being, minority inclusion, and human rights advocacy.

I hold multiple postgraduate degrees, including an MPhil in Sociology, a Master’s in Global Governance and Public Policy from the United Kingdom, and specialized degrees in Women’s Studies, Political Science, Business Administration (HRM), and English Literature. My academic journey reflects a strong interdisciplinary foundation that informs both my research and activism.

I have worked with universities, United Nations agencies, international NGOs, and civil society organizations, contributing to research programs, policy analysis, community engagement, and advocacy initiatives. My professional experience includes work with organizations such as the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), UNDP, Save the Children, World Population Council, Rainbow Refugee Sweden, and Red Cross University College in Sweden.

Through Her World by Sumera, I aim to combine academic research, field experience, and lived realities to highlight critical social issues, challenge structural inequalities, and advocate for meaningful social change—especially for women, refugees, and marginalized communities.
